History

The Story of Brendan O'Hara and The Humble Ones
(the long version is still available)

brendan o’hara and The Humble Ones are a power trio in perpetual motion. Since their formation the Humble Ones and their driven singer/ songwriter have redefined modern Bebop as an all original blend of jazzy-blue-folk-pop with a hip-drop flavour. Which means it’s jazzy but not jazz, it’s soulful but not blues, it’s conscious but not folk, and pop- in a party kind of way. If you haven’t tried the hip-drop you should, you’re bound to like it.

But it’s not all party for these performers. Blending styles has been as much a way to bridge the gaps between so many demographics, as it has been an amalgamation of the three dynamic musicians influences.  Bringing an essential energy to every performance, rooted in peace and positivity, (and a little playfulness) Brendan O’Hara and The Humble Ones aim at affecting change, in the personal music fan, the redundant music industry, and the social environment in which we work and play. Lofty, perhaps. But Humble, as well.

The past year has seen the boys record a full-length disc, tour the east coast, play to capacity crowds at venues like the legendary Bitter End in NYC, volunteer their time and talent for Tsunami Benefits, Hurricane Katrina benefits, The Race For the Cure, and several other local pro-active causes. Brendan and The Humble Ones have played at almost every significant venue in the south florida area, and look forward to playing the rest. They are also staples of the private event circuit where they enjoy tailor-making their lengthy repertoire to the appreciative and intimate crowds. This is not all: an upcoming video showcasing the ground-breaking talent of Latin American MTV director Stian Roening (and Brendan’s athletic prowess) will be released just in time for the Holidays.

Brendan has self-released two solo-records, one rock record with the now defunct Seattle based Red Light Daydream, and this years critically respected Perceptive Inception with the finest rhythm section around, The Humble Ones. (Produced by Humble Drummer Jon Weiner, with Billy b. Bowin on Bass).

Ultimately, Brendan O’Hara and his tight-nit family that is The Humble Ones, are on the rise, gaining critical and emotional acclaim, appreciation for the process, and spreading a little positivity along the way.

(Brendan is available as both a solo performer and with many other incarnations, as are The Humble Ones. Contact info@brendanohara.org for more specific booking inquiries)
